Alginate
Alginic Acid

Alginic acid is a white to pale cream fibrous powder. It is insoluble in water. But in contact with water it swells rapidly to many times its original size. It is soluble in dilute alkali. It is manufactured with minimum ash content. This versatile Product is a polysaccharide composed of beta-D-mannuronic acid residues linked so that the carboxyl group of each unit is free, while the aldehyde group is shielded by a glycosidicc linkage. It is a linear polymer of the mannuronic acid in the pyranose ring form. Its chemical formula is (C6H8O6)n Properties: white to pale cream powder possessing marked hydrophilic colloidal properties for suspending, thickening, emulsifying and stabilizing. It’s non-toxic.
Sodium Alginate

The chemical compound SODIUM ALGINATE is the sodium salt of Alginic acid. Its empirical chemical formula is NaC6H7O6. It is soluble in water thus making it the ideal form of Algin for many formulations used in various industries such as Pharmaceutical, Foods, Textile, Bakery, Cosmetic, Paper, Electrode and Adhesives.
Sodium Alginate is Organic. Safety of alginate for food applications is certified by FAO/WHO, as one of the safest food additives. The polymer is hydrophilic and dissolves in water to form a thick, viscous, smooth gel—perfect for use as a thickening agent.
Calcium Alginate

Calcium Alginate is formed by the addition of aqueous calcium chloride to aqueous sodium alginate. Calcium alginate formed is a water-insoluble, gelatinous, cream-coloured material. Dried and milled to give Calcium Alginate which is used in various industries such as Pharmaceutical, Foods, Bakery, Cosmetic & Electrode.
Potassium Alginate

The Potassium salt of Alginic Acid, namely Potassium Alginate is a light yellow coloured powder. It is soluble in water forming viscous solution which makes it ideal in Pharma, Food applications with yellow colouring. Our Electrode grade is specially developed for its application as a lubricant at the die for coating flux on welding electrodes.
